Our friends at Malachi’s Reads, a literacy program developed by Malachi’s volunteers, are collecting and donating books for our client’s children this summer in memory of Virginia Ross, dear friend of many at Malachi’s. Virginia was one of the original Malachi’s Reads founders and instrumental in the success of the program. Virginia passed away unexpectedly in March 2016. To honor Virginia and her dedication to the children of Malachi’s, friends are getting books into the hands of the children on Wednesday. The best part is that the children are busy reading the books while at Malachi’s and are encouraged to take them home to keep!

“It is a joy to see the excitement on the faces of the children when I approach them with a stack of books for them to choose from”, says a Wednesday volunteer.

If you would like to collect and donate new or gently used books for Malachi’s Reads, please do! Simply drop them off in the Storeroom in a bag marked “Malachi’s Reads”. You will be making a difference in the life of a child.
